Hexoskin Smart Shirt developed by Montreal-based health tech company Hexoskin continuously monitors your heart rate, breathing, and movement whether you’re awake or asleep.

Pharmaceutical industry needs to speed up adopting new technology. “Monitoring technology in general is a huge blind spot for pharma right now, even if they say they’re looking at it,” says CEO of Hexoskin Pierre-Alexandre Fournier. “The drugs you are developing today are going to be seen with tools that you are not using in your trials right now.”

Hexoskin provides precious insights on intensity and recovery, fatigue level, calories burned, and sleep quality. The device connects to your favorite Bluetooth Smart compatible apps and devices (Hexoskin supports the BLE HR profile). It securely stores all your data, allowing you to get an idea on how your physical fitness is evolving over time.

This is a nice alternative to bulky heart rate monitors that may become uncomfortable in many situations. Hexoskin smart shirt is made out of fabric imported from Italy, is extremely comfortable, durable, odor-resistant, and even safe to use in contact sports.

Here’s how it works

Once you plug in the Hexoskin smart device into your shirt, it immediately starts collecting high quality data. For easy reviewing, all of this data is securely synced to the cloud server. Afterwards you can review it on your dashboard, download it, and share it with coaches, healthcare professionals or your loved ones.

To view your data in real time, all you have to do is simply pair your Hexoskin to a Bluetooth Smart compatible device, like your smartphone, tablet, GPS sports watch, or bike computer. The app will display your full breathing, cardiac and movement data. Third-party apps, such as Strava and Runkeeper uses Hexoskin Smart as a Heart Rate Monitor (HRM), displaying and recording your heart rate.

The sensors embedded in the shirt collects data and sends it to the small Hexoskin Smart device that discreetly sits in your side pocket. This device records all your raw data, whether or not you have your phone nearby. When you have a phone or tablet in range, the Hexoskin Smart device will stream your data in real-time to your phone’s display.

If your phone is connected to the internet, it sends your data to the Hexoskin servers, where it is securely stored, allowing you to review your data whenever you want.

Hexoskin is available for men, women and young adults. Its compatible devices include the Tomtom Runner, the Suunto Ambit3, the Wahoo line of bike computers, and more.
