Biography

Christian Stammel is the founder and CEO of the – first of its kind – innovation and business development platform for Wearable Technologies (WT). As serial entrepreneur, Christian founded his first two companies during university. Since the mid-90s he has founded more than 10 companies in the fields of geo data, navigation, internet, open innovation and technology consulting with a proven success record.
Currently he operates as CEO of Wearable Technologies AG. He is a frequent keynote speaker on topics like IoT and beyond. His work cultivates multinationals and entrepreneurs alike to connect with forward thinkers, investors and most influential people within disruptive and converging industries. He developed the renowned open innovation platform, Innovation World Cup Series, through which he and his team support hundreds of companies every year. A well-known supporter of companies of all sizes his brainchild Wearable Technologies is a business accelerator for the entire WT ecosystem. Mr. Stammel is as keen to technology as he is passionate about surfing and snowboarding – always riding the biggest waves first.

Biography

As VP of Marketing, Ryan leads global marketing for Valencell and is responsible for all areas of marketing strategy and execution. Prior to Valencell, Ryan led marketing and enterprise engagement at 6fusion, rapidly growing market awareness and adoption of an innovative approach to standardizing the economic measurement of IT infrastructure. At GXS, Ryan led product marketing and product management for GXS Managed Services, helping grow the business from $40M to $150M in 7 years. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the University of Maryland.

Michael Kirwan PCHAlliance

Biography

Michael J. Kirwan is the Vice President of Continua, a division of the Personal Connected Health Alliance (PCHAlliance) – a membership-driven non-profit organization focused on developing an eco-system of open plug-and-play interoperable personal connected health devices.

Through working with Standards bodies and industry experts, Continua publishes global certification guidelines built upon international criteria from IEEE, HL7, IHE, ITU, WSI, Bluetooth, USB, NFC and ZigBee.

Michael has over 35 years of experience in driving wired and wireless special interest groups and alliances and believes that, together, we are all on a journey as unique individuals who know that by coming together with a shared purpose, we can make it possible for everyone everywhere to be healthy and, for those who do fall sick, to receive the care and treatment they need in a way that fits into their day to day lives -- and that we can do this digitally.

Michael advanced as Continua’s Technical Operations Manager, starting in 2009, to its Director and now VP of Continua. Michael has extensive experience within both non-profit and for-profit technology organizations. His prior role within the Bluetooth SIG as its BQA (Bluetooth Qualification Administrator) and a leading role in the development of the Bluetooth low energy technology, has helped shape his vision for personal connected health – so that it can work for everyone.

Michael holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina, a BS in Industrial Technology from Northwest Missouri State University and is PMP certified (Program Management Professional). Michael also works directly with each of the Working Groups at the PCHAlliance and is also a Co-Chair of the IEEE 11073 PHD WG.

Daidi Zhong PCHAlliance

Biography

Daidi Zhong is a Professor at Bioengineering College, Chongqing University since 2010. Prior to this he has worked at Nokia Corp advancing the Bluetooth technology. Daidi joined the IEEE 11073 Personal Health Devices (PHD WG) in 2008 and both Continua and the Bluetooth SIG in 2007, where he has been contributing to personal connected health interoperability standardization activates ever since.
Daidi is also the Co-Chair of PHD WG since 2011 and has served as a member of IEEE-SA Standards Board and its Review Committee. He is also an active member of ISO TC215, ITU SG16, IHE, AAMI and several Chinese national SDOs.

Christophe Ramstein Myotest

Biography

Ramstein is an entrepreneurial and innovative executive with over 20 years of experience in designing and developing consumer products and solutions for mobile, gaming, PC, automotive, and virtual reality markets now shipping in 100s of millions of devices. Prior to Myotest, Ramstein was Vice President of Engineering at Logitech, and Chief Technology Officer at Immersion. Ramstein is the author of numerous patents, and holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Polytechnic Institute in Grenoble, France.

Biography

Karl J. Weaver (魏卡爾) is a senior
Mandarin Chinese-speaking, Mobile Device
ecosystem specialist for the Smart Card sector of the
Wireless industry and a top public speaker on Wearable
Payment Smartwatches for subway transit ticketing in
China. Karl works for Simulity as OEM Biz Dev Director,
Asia-Pacific/Greater China Region. Simulity has recently
been acquired by ARM. Karl’s career in the Smart Card/
Semiconductor ecosystem and embedded software World
spans 13 years. Additionally, Karl spent 5 years working in
China for Gemalto (and Trustonic) as Rainmaker for
design in of embedded Mobile NFC Payments & TEE
security technologies to the OEM Smartphone/Tablet
PC ecosystem. He possesses a B.S degree in
Business Management from Salve Regina University,
Certification in Mandarin Chinese Language,

Biography

Dr. Sagiv has a twenty-year track record of building and leading successful business programs for global diagnostic and biotechnology start-up companies. With a diverse and rich background in worldwide activities in the Medical Devices segment, Gary adds a broad base of commercialization expertise from responsibilities in marketing research, business development, marketing & sales and general management. In his senior management positions, he has initiated programs of international growth for the company, encompassing both pre and commercial sales; built and lead commercial teams globally and has conducted business in over 70 countries.

Dr. Ellie Fu Nano and Advanced Materials Institute Limited

Biography

Dr. Fu is currently a Technical Manager at Nano and Advanced Materials Institute (NAMI). Her current researches focus on the material and process development for batteries, sensors and printed electronics. Prior to NAMI, she was Technology Director at Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment Inc., leading the product development of a CVD system for 300mm wafers. From 2000 to 2004, she worked for Applied Materials in developing front-end CVD equipments and thin film deposition processes for semiconductor industry. Dr. Fu holds a bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University, and an MS and a Ph.D from University of Michigan.

Kenny Chan ASTRI

Biography

Mr Kenny Chan Kin-lung is a Senior Manager in ASTRI specialising in Sensing Technologies within the Manufacturing Technologies Group. He has over 20 years of industry experience in this particular technology domain, covering R&D, project management, commercialisation and technology marketing. Among his successful technology developments are many industry-acclaimed solutions including the world’s first single-lens dual panel 3D pico projector, the world’s first single camera based depth sensing projector, and the world’s first bi-sensing wearable display. He has received five innovation awards till date, including two Hong Kong ICT Gold Awards. He had mentored aspiring tech-entrepreneurs in the ASTRI Innovation Runway (AIR) programme, helping the students to realise their innovative technology business ideas. He played an instrumental role in setting up the ASTRI-TRULY Joint Research and Development Centre and Delphi-ASTRI Digital Optical Simulation Joint Laboratory in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
Before joining ASTRI, Kenny held senior roles in Epson’s Hong Kong and China operations, responsible for component device development, product marketing, and project management. Under his leadership, Epson’s market share in Gyro sensor and Image backplane IC grew to nearly 80% between 2002 and 2006, and the annual sales revenue hit RMB 260 million. That earned him the company’s ‘Group President Award’.

Phil Cheng is a british industrial designer based in Hong Kong. He specializes in design strategy, user and consumer insights, engineering and manufacturing support. Phil is the head of Venn Reactor, an up-and-coming design consultancy.
Phil has over 20 years of experience within product development, creating commercially successful design solutions across a wide scope of product categories, ranging from wearables, audio, electrical appliances and consumer electronics.

Tony Leung Global Virtual Design and Construction

Biography

Tony Leung has over 20 years experience in Construction IT, Engineering and Education covering innovation, strategic planning, business development, VR/AR and Innovation product and services localizations and customizations to create new customer experiences Hong Kong, Macau, China, Singapore and Malaysia markets. Mr. Leung holds an executive master degree in business administration from Chinese University of Hong Kong and bachelor degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from University of Toronto.

Brian Lam Platysens

Biography

Brian Lam is the COO of Platysens, a Hong Kong startup company focused on sports wearable device and analysis. 
Founded by sport enthusiasts in 2014, Platysens' sports sensors are designed to help athletes understand their performance with data. Since joining the company, he has helped launched the Marlin, a GPS swim tracker that provides realtime audio feedback.  The Marlin was successfully funded on Kickstarter and is selling to swimming enthusiasts around the world. 
Prior to joining Platysens, Brian worked in integrated circuit design focusing on memory and video processing. Brian earned his BASc in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois.

With a career spanning 2 decades, Chandan has led global cross-functional teams across the techno-commercial industries in fields including Wearable Technology, Consumer Electronics & Healthcare. He also designed as well as set up PMOs/processes for design & development, NPI, industrialization and manufacturing operations for many of the world's most revolutionary technologies – being a vital part of their success.
Such technologies include: Nike Fuelband, Amazon Kindle, Nokia & Blackberry mobile phones, IBM Thinkpad, Ricoh Fax and Photocopier Devices to name a few revolutionary products over the years.
Having lived in HK for the past 14 years, and with extensive connections across the industry in China, India and across the Asia Pacific, he is looking forward to become an even bigger part of shaping the world's future technologies and innovations with innoWear.

Wallace Wong Ming Yip Well Being Digital

Biography

Wallace Wong is a co-founder, director, and CTO of Well Being Digital Limited (WBD101) where multiple product and technology patents are filed and its groundbreaking and accurate technologies into wearable and hearable devices are implemented. He is directly related to the strategic development of WBD101’s almost 50 innovative intellectual properties and holds an impressive product realization (ref: ISO 9001:2008) record.
He was a Project Manager and Technical Lead in a listed company in Hong Kong where he started a team to research and develop technologies in non-invasive sensing since 2007. Prior to that, he was Partner and VP of IDO Limited, where he focused on portable designs in consumer electronics.
Before pioneering the award-winning company, WBD101, he attended the University of Pennsylvania (U Penn) for one year where he was a team member in the ENIAC-ON-A-CHIP Project, received his Master of Philosophy and undergraduate Engineering degree from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology where he was involved in the RFIC field.

Biography

Ir Yeung, Head of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Electronics Clusters, Smart Cities of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, is responsible for the cluster development, market strategy and development of the Smart City platform.
A Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and served as the Chairman of the Electronics Division (2009-2010 Session) of the Institution, Ir Yeung has over 25 years of experience in business management and technology development.
Peter holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the Oregon State University and a Master degree in Business Administration from the York University of Toronto. Peter is also a member of IEEE and the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Society.

Dr. Lawrence Law received his PhD degree in Electronics Engineering from City University of Hong Kong. Since graduated from the City University, Dr. Law held several senior positions in multi-national and local companies such as Motorola, Freescale, NXP and Intercel for market and product development in Asia. Dr. Law has been leading product development teams, located in Australia, Hong Kong, UK and Shenzhen, to develop wireless systems based on WiFi and ZigBee technologies for home, office and industrial applications. Dr. Law is now a Senior Program Manager in Kopin (HK) Limited, managing several wearable product development programs based on Kopin’s state-of-the-art Micro-display and Voice-Extraction Filter technologies.
