Our 2017 WT | Wearable Technologies Finalists have been announced! Join us in Munich, Feb 7th to find out who will be named the winners!

The WT | Wearable Technologies Innovation World Cup closed for submissions on the 17th of October 2016 with an impressive number of high-quality, innovative solutions. After a month of evaluation by an international judging panel of industry experts, the finalists were announced on the 13th of December 2016. Read the official press release here.

The “WT Innovators of the Year 2017” and the special prize winners will be announced and awarded at the pitch and award ceremony held during the WT I Wearable Technologies Conference EUROPE on the 7th of February 2017 in Munich. All finalists will pitch their innovative solutions live on stage and will have the opportunity to celebrate with the who-is-who of the entire WT ecosystem.

The WT | Wearable Technologies Innovation World Cup, with its sponsors STMicroelectronics, MediaTek Labs, AiQ, VARTA Microbattery and Cicor, is the world leading innovation competition in the area of wearable technologies. With prizes worth over $300,000, the competition is designed to inspire and stimulate excellent up and coming solutions that have the potential to become real, marketable products. The 2016/17 competition saw submissions in the categories of “Sports & Fitness”, “Healthcare & Wellness”, “ Safety & Security”, “Gaming & Lifestyle”, and the special prize categories “Smart Clothing” & “Smart Jewelry”.

The world champions in wearables were announced at the WT | Wearable Technologies Conference EUROPE 2016 on January 26th in Munich. 28 out of 450 registered contestants were nominated to become a category winner or even the Innovator of the Year. The decision – which was definitely not easy with respect to the high quality of submitted solutions – was made by an international expert jury.

The WT | Wearable Technologies Innovation World Cup, with its sponsors STMicroelectronics, MediaTek Labs, AiQ, VARTA Microbattery and Cicor, is the worldwide leading innovation competition in the area of wearable technologies. Review of WT | Wearable Technologies Innovation World Cup 2015/16

With more than 450 registered contestants from 60 countries the WT | Wearable Technologies Innovation World Cup was a great success. Almost all finalists presented their innovative products live on stage at the WT | Wearable Technologies Conference Europe, on January 26th in Munich. It was truly an innovation wild fire! Afterwards the official ceremony started with a fulminant award movie. The trophies were handed over by the representatives of the WT Innovation World Cup sponsors: Andrea Onetti (STMicroelectronics), Abbas Sumar (MediaTek Labs), Philipp Miehlich (VARTA Microbattery), Steve Huang (AiQ), and Beat Marbacher (Cicor).
