ispo 11

After four days the Wearable Technologies Show at ispo 11 ended with positive feedback from partners and exhibitors. The WT Show has further established its position as a network and contact platform for innovative technologies at the world's largest sports business network.

The wide, high quality, and innovative range of products presented on more than 200 m² attracted numerous people and enabled successful dialogues between exhibitors and visitors.

Apart from general information about Wearable Technologies, the visitors could get comprehensive information and build business relationships at the partner stands from  ActiSmile AG (Actismile motion measurement system), Bluetooth SIG (wireless data transfer technology e.g. for sports & fitness devices), CSEM SA (SenseCore – wireless sensors integrated into garments to measure vital data), Oregon Scientific (GPS-Action Cam, GPS Speed & Distance Monitor, GPS Scout Backtrack Altimeter), Solare Fashion (Solar bags and vestse), sportsCurve (real-time tracking tool) and VARTA Microbattery GmbH (tiny battery systems).

Furthermore, TexRay (AiQ Smart clothing systems), Columbia Sportswear (Omni-Heat Technology), Liquid Image (Ski, scuba diving and sports goggles with integrated HD camera), and Recon Instruments (GPS goggles) presented their latest product innovations.

Bluetooth Innovation World Cup

On February 7, the official awards ceremony of the Bluetooth Innovation World Cup 2010 was conducted successfully at the Wearable Technologies Show grounds.

Dr. Michael Foley, Executive Director of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, awarded the winners of the three categories Healthcare (Pervasive Computing Group), Sports & Fitness (Biju Thomas) and Home Automation (Dr. Nicholas Pau) in front of over one hundred guests.

The Pervasive Computing Group with their Ear Worn Sensors was chosen as the overall winner – the Bluetooth Innovator of the Year.

Connected Sports

Together with Kinect for XBOX 360, interested visitors could experience a little bit of what will be shown in May at the Connected Sports Conference. Without any remote control they could compete in boxing, bowling, running etc. and do some workout in contrast to a busy and stressful day at the trade show.
