Metria™ - wearable sensor technology by Avery Dennison® Medical Solutions

The Avery Dennison Metria wearable sensor technology platform will provide comfortable, secure and low-profile physiological monitoring for a variety of consumer or clinical applications - from sports, fitness and gaming to cardiac, elder and home health care monitoring.

The Metria technology platform is based on Avery Dennison Medical Solutions advanced adhesives, materials and manufacturing processes in combination with a personal monitoring device for continuous physiologic monitoring developed by Proteus Biomedical, Inc. It will incorporate multiple sensors including ECG and an accelerometer that will allow measurement of heart rate, activity, sleep and other physiologic metrics.

The Metria platform will enable production of comfortable and low-profile wearable sensor patches that can contribute to users’ quality of life and can also help lower health care costs. The patch will feature a skin-friendly adhesive that can accommodate day-to-day activity, such as exercising or taking a shower.
