The Polar AW200 Activity Watch features innovative activity technology

Polar Electro, pioneer and leading innovator of sports instruments and heart rate monitors has developed a wrist watch based on new activity technology. Sensing body movement, the AW200 enables the wearer to develop a better understanding of how much beneficial exercise they are getting.

At the heart of the watch is a capacitive accelerometer that detects even the slightest movements of the body. Data from the sensor is parsed through algorithms which distinguish the intensity of the movements and calculate total energy consumption and burn rate. The information is provided to the wearer in a meaningful and easily quantifiable form (active steps, active time, intensity of activity and calories) which helps motivate and inspire them towards improving the quality of their activity.
