Worldwide hotspot for innovation and networking: The 5th MEDICA MEDICINE + SPORTS CONFERENCE

The MEDICA MEDICINE + SPORTS CONFERENCE will celebrate its 5th anniversary at MEDICA 2017. This worldwide hotspot for innovations in sports medicine and related disciplines takes place on MEDICA days 2 and 3, on the 14th and 15th of November.

Here, renowned sports medicine experts, sports scientists, visionaries, physiotherapists and sports techies gather together for an interdisciplinary dialogue on innovative approaches in prevention, regeneration and rehabilitation. On the first day of the conference, the founder of the SUB2 Marathon project will provide insights into the building blocks of a multidisciplinary 360-monitoring of athletes., Adidas will present, for the first time ever in Europe, the ALL DAY App developed in partnership with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). In addition, new approaches to digital life management for athletes will be presented, as well as VR and hybrid technologies for real training in a virtual world. In the subsequent Guided Innovation Tour, participants will get an overview of innovative technologies presented at the MEDICA trade show floor from HUR, Movesense, Polar, InBody and Hocoma, in addition to the trade fair halls relevant to sports medicine. At the Get-Together in Hall 15, the latest wearables can be tested at the WT Wearable Technologies Show.

Day 2 of the conference will focus on new insights and innovations concerning the monitoring of vital and performance data, tailored training and exercise programs, as well as digital innovations in elite and recreational sport. Amongst others, the following topics will be on the agenda: real-time analytics at the point of care, body composition as a determinant of metabolism, diagnostics of skull and brain injuries, return-to-activity and return-to-play in football and other sports disciplines, and new methods for sleep analysis.
