With the curtains coming down at the IFA 2018, Europe’s biggest tech, we’ve seen amazing innovations such as fridge with a built-in vacuum sealer to waterproof speakers with Google Assistant.

IFA – or Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin – takes place at the end of each summer, and is one of the world’s largest consumer electronics shows.

Here are some of the coolest gadgets and electronics we’ve seen at the IFA 2018:

Google Wear OS watches

With the expected announcement of Apple’s new watch, Google decided to expand its own wearable plans at IFA to get ahead of the Apple PR wave. Wear OS by Google is an update to its wearable OS that incorporates heart rate monitor and other health tracking features as well as navigation system and integration with its Google Assistant – the AI-driven voice assistant. The smartwatches with Google’s Wear OS debuted at the IFA 2018 were Skagen Falster 2 , Diesel Full Guard 2.5 and Casio Pro Trek WSD F30.

TVs

In the television arena, the name of the game was 8K, the next gen resolution.

Samsung introduced its 8K QLED TV Samsung Q900. Also, LG also made news in the 8K field by restating its commitment to bring out an 8K OLED TV, it was Samsung’s 85-inch Q900 that made the biggest impression at IFA.

Philips introduced OLED+ 903, which is a TV built actually for audiophiles. The TV looked great and had a really pumping sound thanks to the new tie-in with the audio experts at Bowers & Wilkins.

Toshiba’s new TV is ultra-thin and had inbuilt far-field microphones, allowing you to talk to Alexa and use Alexa skills like playing music, asking about the weather, reading the news etc.

Sony SRS-XB501G Waterproof Speakers

If you’re looking for a durable, portable speaker, then Sony SRS-XB501G is for you. These speakers are water-resistant and dustproof. It has multicolored lights, flashing strobe lights and extra bass. It also has built-in Google Assistant and the battery can run up to 16 hours.

The Polaroid OneStep+ Bluetooth-enabled analog camera

Polaroid introduced OneStep+, an analog camera which can connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth. You can instantly take photos, and also use creative tools to edit your images via a smartphone app and share them with the world immediately. The camera also comes with a portrait lens, flash, and rechargeable battery.

Skagen Falster 2 Smartwatch

The Danish-inspired Skagen introduced its newest smartwatch the Falster 2, an upgrade to its Falster released earlier this year. It has GPS, Heart rate sensor and is swimproof. Falster 2 comes in 4 colors – rose gold, silver, gray, and black and the price starts at $275.
