Sivantos has unveiled its latest product Signia Styletto, a hearing aid that looks like a pair of stylish headsets. The brains behind the new hearables were the Sivantos engineers, who wanted to make a hearing aid that doesn’t look like hearing aid. They designed the Styletto as a receiver-in-the-canal (RIC) hearing aid that breaks the mold of traditional behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids.

“Styletto is trendsetting hearwear that combines premium technology with the most stylish design. Styletto is the future,” says Ignacio Martinez, CEO of Sivantos.

The Sivantos engineers were able to make this RIC hearing aid because its pin-shaped lithium-ion battery technology doesn’t need to conform to the traditional size and shape of a round button cell.

Additionally, the new power solution also caters to the active lifestyles of today’s men and women. The new RIC, which uses the latest advancements of the proven Signia Nx platform with energy efficiency, rechargeable Li-ion batteries and Own Voice Processing (OVP) for a natural sounding own voice, also comes with a tiny charger which offers its wearers four days of use, free from cables or plugs for completely convenient handling on the move.

“There are people who look at a hearing aid and really don’t see it matching their style,” says Eric Branda, AuD, director of product management at Sivantos Inc, Piscataway, NJ. “We see all these people wearing large Bluetooth headsets flashing on their ears—huge devices on their ears—and yet [the hearing industry has] struggled to get them to adopt hearing aids, and I think it really comes down to the fact that we keep asking them to wear what looks like a hearing aid.”

The Signia Styletto comes in three elegant colors.
