MWC 2019: MediaTek Accelerates 5G Rollout with Helio M70 5G Modem for Sub-6GHz Spectrum

MediaTek showcased Helio M70 5G modem for smart home running 5G data transfer speeds as well as mmWave over-the-air tests of MediaTek’s 5G antenna arrays at the MWC 2019 in Barcelona. The Helio demo was the industry’s fastest sub-6GHz live 5G modem demonstration to date, running at 4.2Gbps 5G data speeds.

MediaTek’s 5G technology has gone through extensive industry testing and Helio M70 is expected to be in devices later this year, said a press release.

Our comprehensive 5G solutions will power the next wave of New Premium devices, bringing reliable, readily available and fast broadband to consumers around the world.”

The Helio M70 5G modem comes with with LTE and 5G dual connectivity (EN-DC) with dynamic power sharing capability, plus multi-mode support for every cellular connectivity generation from 2G to 5G. Key features of the Helio M70 include:
