With only ten days remaining for the opening day of Mobile World Congress (MWC), the world’s largest expo for the mobile industry, Nubia announced it’ll be appearing at the event’s “Flex your life” product launch with its new foldable phone, Alpha.

In Berlin, last year, Nubia unveiled what critics called “the most interesting prototype at IFA 2018,” its Alpha wearable smartphone with a curved OLED display. It’s actually not a smartwatch, but a smartphone that you wear on your wrist.
The Alpha is a proof that curved screen can actually work. The flexible display in Alpha is bright, colorful and easy to read. Nubia didn’t disclose the display size or the resolution.
You can use the phone to make and receive calls via the built-in 4G connectivity. It also takes pictures, tracks your fitness and pay for purchases, all with a simple tap. The camera can also be used to do video calls.
Although, the Alpha looks bulky it’s quite light. The elongated OLED panel sits inside a metal strap and a plastic case with a selfie camera attached.
“Nubia says on Chinese social media that “the future is here,” which indicates the Alpha may finally be ready for primetime,” reports Phone Arena.
This is definitely an outstanding concept from the Chinese phone maker so it’ll be interesting to see how well the consumers embrace it.

However, Nubia isn’t the only one showing off a foldable phone at the MWC19, Huawei said it’ll be showcasing a foldable phone and Energizer is also preparing one.
