    Marco Suvilaakso is the Director of Product Management for Polar. He is leading the global product management, portfolio management and strategic planning for the consumer, btob and the OEM business sectors of Polar. The product management team that Marco leads is pioneering the future standard for fitness and sports smart training experience. Marco joined Polar in 2002 to establish the highly successful running product category for Polar. During his ten years at Polar Marco has held various key product management and marketing positions within Polar. Prior to joining Polar he was working in business development and marketing in the mobile telecoms sector. Altogether Marco has 20 years of experience in the international product and service marketing. Marco is Canadian but resides in Finland since 2000 where he now lives with his wife and two young children.

    As a Co-Founder of Biosensive Technologies Inc., Ashlyn is an entrepreneur with a strong business background and a passion for fashion and fitness. She holds her Honours Bachelor of Commerce as well as her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and also works as an Advisor to several innovation and technology-based startups. Ashlyn's expertise include entrepreneurial strategy, entrepreneurial resource management, business development, commercialization, marketing, communications, and leadership.

    Titus Suck, Canatu


    Mr. Titus Suck joined Canatu in 2013. He has extensive experience in the electronics sector, especially in PCB manufacturing (introduced UV YAG Laser drilling) and PCB Assembly. He also has experience in several start-ups in UV curing technology, internet software and dry-process technology for non-woven materials. Over the last 20 years, Titus held management positions in European marketing, sales, business development and customer support. He holds an MBA in international management from Thunderbird, Ph.D. in comparative literature from the University of Oregon and Magister M.A. from Tübingen University in Germany.

    Reka Kovacs, LIBER8


    Reka has a diverse background in business management and in space sciences. She worked in the space industry and at NASA - she has always been passionate about emerging technologies and revolutionary futuristic products. She joined L!ber8 Tech - a company developing E Ink and NFC enabled gadgets with #NOcord, #NObutton, #NOcharge technologies in 2014. Her passion for emerging technologies led her to work as a business development consultant for several hardware startups all over Europe. Reka likes to work in fast paced environments, and in emerging fields where the rules are not set yet, and out-of-the-box thinking and an entrepreneurial mindset is required. Reka is specialized in strategical business development, technology transfer, commercialization, marketing and future studies.

    Mikko Malmivaara, Clothing+


    Mikko Malmivaara has been an active member of the wearable technology community since 1998 representing the Finnish smart clothing pioneer Clothing Plus. With a background in design, product development, research and marketing he is well versed in the technical requirements of body monitoring but also has a decade and a half worth of experience in the business side of wearables. Mr. Malmivaara travels the world spreading the word on biometric sensing and textile-integrated electronics.

    Rob Royea, Cyrcadia Health


    Mr. Royea is a proven senior executive offering comprehensive knowledge in the creation, and execution, of the strategies necessary to grow sophisticated medical technology and software companies. He has led global efforts of both public and private venture backed technologies, with demonstrated successes from start-up to over $550M in P & L responsibilities. Mr. Royea designed the go-to-market strategies, hired clinical and marketing teams, and executed on the business perspectives for the cardiac ultrasound and cardiac PACS divisions of Acuson, to achieve number one market positions world-wide. He eventually became the general manager for Siemens Medical’s ultrasound, PACS and catheter division for the US helping to pioneer the use of high frequency ultrasound as a key adjunctive tool to mammography for dense breast tissue analysis. Most recently, Mr. Royea lead the global launch, and eventual sale of Ziosoft, Inc. a super computed algorithmic medical imaging company to angel investor, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, to enable a centralized patient data intelligent domain containing imaging, genomic and proteomic data targeted at cardiovascular and cancer research.

    Asli is the global head of electrical and electronics products at TÜV SÜD. Having worked in technology and testing, inspection and certification companies for over 12 years, Asli brings extensive knowledge both from a product and service perspective. She has held various management positions in the area of marketing, sales and business development. Asli holds an MBA degree from the University of Mannheim.

    Wallen Mphepö, is an electronic information displays expert whose breakthrough research has been published in IEEE/OSA Journals and also featured in the mainstream media including The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, TechCrunch, Spiegel, CNET, The Entrepreneur, Discovery Channel, Yahoo! Tech, PhysOrg, The New Scientist, Popular Science, etc. His research work spans both the advanced theory and applications of display technologies. One of his latest focus has been on wearable fashion. In particular wearable displays, from the perspective of advanced electronic display physics and has been invited to be an honorarium speaker on Wearables Technology at Baidu in Beijing

  • Martin Treiblmayr, Garmin

    Martin Treiblmayr, Garmin


    Martin Treiblmayr is Product Manager Content & Services at Garmin. In his role, he oversees connected services for Garmin’s Automotive / Mobile segment. Additionally, he is doing business development engineering of wearable apps for Garmin’s Fitness and Outdoor devices. Prior to joining Garmin, Martin worked at SAP in corporate research and industry solution management. Martin holds a PhD in Geosciences and a dual degree in international business and surveying engineering.

    Matteo Lai, Empatica


    Matteo Lai is co-founder and CEO of Empatica, a human data analytics company based in Milan and Boston. Empatica sells the world’s smallest and most accurate wearable sensor for research, and it recently launched Embrace, the first medical grade wearable designed to save lives for people with Epilepsy and Autism. He holds a Master in Innovation Management from Alta Scuola Politecnica. He also studied engineering, trained as an architect, and holds a Double MSc degree in Architecture from Milan’s Polytechnic and Turin’s Polytechnic.

    Venetian creative, he’s a fan of digital fashion, motivational NLP and anthropometry.
    He attended Business Administration and Marketing at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice and he has a great professional experience in marketing and sales field at venetian SME.
    He’s the Founder & President of XYZE, skilled in Digital Economics & Entrepreneurship at Digital Academy MasterLab and involved in business design, marketing and organization development.

    Colin Ballantyne studied an MEng in Product Design Engineering at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. Passionate about motorcycling Colin joined Alpinestars in 2004 after military service as an officer in the Royal Air Force, where he was promptly put in charge of the rider datalogging and airbag protection programs. Working with a team of specialists this culminated in the release of the racing airbag system (for leather suits) in 2009, and now the street version of the airbag system for 2015.

    Michele Monico is Vice President, R&D and Engineering and the General Manager of Flextronics’ site in Milan, Italy. Mr. Monico is responsible for all the global product and technology development activities in the Medical segment of the High Reliability business group. The team is composed of more than 350 design engineers dedicated to medical device development, with locations in Dallas (USA), Milan (Italy), Althofen (Austria), Timisoara (Romania), Haifa (Israel) and Singapore.

    Mr. Monico has been with the company for 12 years, serving in a variety of managerial roles. Prior to moving into the global role he was the Design Center Director of the largest design center located in Milan, leading for several years a multidisciplinary design team, including industrial design, system engineering, program management, quality, industrialization and transfer into production.

    Edward has a talent and passion for partner relationships and technical marketing nurtured through working with international publishers and developers for two decades. Edward is an experienced presenter, having delivered complex ideas and innovative concepts globally to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences. Ed has a history of working with innovators and technology leaders. His early career was notable for producing multimedia products for artists such as U2, Peter Gabriel, Douglas Adams and The Prodigy. He worked as Head of Developer Programs at Symbian, helping to build the first app store, running developer events in Europe, Asia and the US, and spearheading many programmes such as the Symbian Signed Program. Since then Ed has had a number of consulting and product roles with companies such as SGN, Shell, Nationwide Bank, IBM, Audi and The Rank Group – he has had particular involvement in developing future concepts in both retail and industry. Ed also has experience of constructing and deploying mobile and smart infrastructure projects particularly in the utilities field. In his current role as Developer Relations Manager at MediaTek Labs Europe, Edward supports the community of makers, developers and startups in the IoT and Wearables domain using MediaTek solutions and helps bring their ideas to the market.

    Alberto Sanna graduated in Nuclear Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, in Milan Italy. He is the Director of the Center for Advanced Technologies in Health and Wellbeing (www.eservices4life.org) at the Scientific Institute San Raffaele in Milan, in charge of three main research programs. During his career, he has been presenting his research activities in 100+ top level international congresses and he has been constantly active in academic teaching. Presently, he is teaching Information Technology for Predictive, Preventive and Personalized Medicine at the University Vita-Salute in Milano. He is author of edutainment videogames & formats and inventor of patents & trademarks in the field of innovative technologies for health and wellbeing.

    Fabrizio Rovati is co-ordinating the SW development activities for the STM32 Open Development Environment in ST’s Central Labs organization . He has been working for STMicroelectronics since 1995 where he started working on digital video processing algorithms and architectures. He then moved to Advanced System Technology, now part of ST’s Central Labs, where he started the IP-based networked multimedia team, progressively focusing on internet of things applications and also coordinated ST’s "Smart Home" R&D program.
