    Biography

    Christian Stammel is the founder and CEO of the – first of its kind – innovation and business development platform for Wearable Technologies (WT). As serial entrepreneur, Christian founded his first two companies during university. Since the mid-90s he has founded more than 10 companies in the fields of geo data, navigation, internet, open innovation and technology consulting with a proven success record.
    Currently he operates as CEO of Wearable Technologies AG. He is a frequent keynote speaker on topics like IoT and beyond. His work cultivates multinationals and entrepreneurs alike to connect with forward thinkers, investors and most influential people within disruptive and converging industries. He developed the renowned open innovation platform, Innovation World Cup Series, through which he and his team support hundreds of companies every year. A well-known supporter of companies of all sizes his brainchild Wearable Technologies is a business accelerator for the entire WT ecosystem. Mr. Stammel is as keen to technology as he is passionate about surfing and snowboarding – always riding the biggest waves first.

    Biography

    Samuel Hsu has over 10 years of professional experience in chemical industry, specializing in sales and marketing of raw material solutions with polyurethane films, foams and adhesives as well as polycarbonate resins. He holds a Master’s degree from De Montfort University, UK.

  • Linh Le, Flextrapower

    Linh Le, Flextrapower

    Biography

    Linh Le is a PhD (ABD) in Chemical Engineering and the founder of Flextrapower, Inc. He has published multiple papers, international conference proceedings and currently holds six US patent for invention based on his works at Stevens Institute of Technology. He later found Flextrapower to bring cutting-edge sensing technology into one of the most human essentials, a.k.a clothes and won several business plan competitions. Prior to that, he got his MS in Chemical Engineering at Columbia University and BS in Chemistry at Vietnam National University. Linh is also a vivid distance runner, he recently acquired ultra-marathoner title, and had plan to run all the World Marathon Majors.

    Monisha-Perkash, Lumo Bodytech

    Biography

    Monisha is CEO and Co-founder at Lumo Bodytech, a movement intelligence company that uses sensor technologies and algorithms to help people move better for improved health, performance, and safety. Think posture, running, golf, yoga, ergonomics, physical therapy, and more. Their wearables platform includes the Lumo Lift and Lumo Back posture coaches, and the Lumo Run smart shorts, which provide actionable feedback on running form to help people run faster and farther while reducing the risk of injury.
    Monisha previously served as CEO and Co-Founder of TuitionCoach (acquired by SimpleTuition in 2009), where she oversaw the financing, launch, and general management of the start-up. After the acquisition, she stayed on with SimpleTuition as VP Products. Monisha has an MBA from Stanford and a BA from Yale.

Her previous employers include Bluegiga Technologies, Fujitsu Services, Anixter International and DuPont creating a balanced high tech background from both large multinationals and start ups. PulseOn OHR solutions are offered for sports, fitness, wellness and healthcare customers and partners. The patented sensor solution and advanced algorithms provide scientifically validated continuous accurate low power HR and HRV in wide range of conditions. Solution is available as sensor modules, white label products and technology license.

    Biography

    Being passionate about human health, Valer is driven to empower people around the globe with smart wearable technology. Valer holds a PhD degree and has a background in business, financial and corporate strategy. He founded LifeSense Group in July 2015 and started to develop the female health brand Carin. Carin offers innovative wearables for the different cycles of womanhood.

    Biography

    Dr. Kwon is CEO of DNX Co.,Ltd which has a great mission about new experience of wearable device. Having worked in information technology and art school for over 27 years, she brings extensive knowledge both from IT and design perspective. She founded DNX through her convergence experience and developed unique and creative jewelry smart watch “qliq”. She was a director in the Korean Society of Fashion and Business and currently she is also a professor in Kaywon University of Art & Design. She received her PhD. in computer science from Ewha University, Korea.

    Biography

    Eddie leads business innovation at WearWare, a skunkworks innovation team within Li & Fung and Fung Academy with the goal to unlock the true potential of IoT. He guides internal businesses to truly embrace experimentation and help them identify and understand new consumer behaviors and business models. As a self-proclaimed wanderer, Eddie has been to over 80 countries and holds an MBA from INSEAD with over a decade of management and innovation consulting experience.

    Biography

    Dr Daniel Bongers is the creator of the SmartCap fatigue monitoring product, and a co-founder and current CTO of SmartCap Technologies. Daniel has dedicated the last 12 years to working with businesses around the world to deploy the SmartCap solution into daily operations. As CTO, Daniel heads the Innovation Group at SmartCap.

    Biography

    Paul Pugh is an award-winning designer and innovator. Paul and his teams have put many millions of products in market and he has been part of developing the product vision, strategy and design for top-tier companies including Amazon, Under Armour, HP, Nokia, Microsoft, and AT&T. He has built from scratch design studios and overseen large design organizations and global teams.

    Paul recently launched his own product strategy and design studio, Airline Design, based in Tokyo, Japan. Airline is focused on hardware/software integrated products including wearables for health, fitness and fashion.

    Biography

    Vincent Phang is the Deputy Director of the Physical Activity and Weight Management (PAWM) Department in the Health Promotion Board (HPB) of Singapore. In 2015, he formulated Singapore’s Physical Activity strategy and 5-year plan. The National Steps ChallengeTM was thus conceived to encourage residents to get more active and its implementation attracted unprecedented interest and participation among Singaporeans, PRs and foreigners alike.
    Prior to his current stint in HPB, Vincent served 32 years in the Singapore military as a helicopter pilot, holding senior appointments in operational command, training and headquarters staff capacities.

  • Chris Goeltner, Osram Opto Semiconductors

    Chris Goeltner, Osram Opto Semiconductors

    Biography

    Chris Goeltner is product manager at Osram Opto Semiconductors in Sunnyvale, California where is responsible for sensor products serving the wearables market. He held marketing positions at Texas Instruments and several Silicon Valley start-ups in the renewable energy and semiconductor industry. After receiving his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology he started his career at Mercedes-Benz and Siemens.
